Your Great Grandfather, John Oswald Hill, Jr. was born in 1844.  On May 17, 1872 John Jr. married Maria (Henrietta Maria) Hurtt.

Their son, Thomas Domick Hill is your direct line Grandfather.  One of Thomas' siblings was Clarence Joseph Hill, your Great Uncle.

Your Great Uncle Clarence Joseph Hill born 10 April 1880 DC; married Elsie Lowe 1906 in Piscataway; died July 16, 1941 DC. Clarence Joseph Hill lived with his wife at 1402 E. St. SE in DC and worked as a Navy Yard carpenter.  He was medium build/height, light blue eyes, dark hair.  He died of a pulmonary embolism but had multiple other problems listed on his death certificate.  This even says he was in an institution or hospital environment (St. Elizabeth's in DC is a public mental illness facility which operated beginning in 1855) for 18 years, 8 mos and 8 days.  Do not really know why. 

He is buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery, along with his wife Elsie.

Clarence and Elsie had three children all of whom are your 1st cousins, 1xRemoved and all of whom were born in DC:

Audrey suffered a horrific death.  She died in the hospital of extensive burns due to an apartment fire!

Mrs. Elsie Camille Hill Kelly died January 2000 and is buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, Maryland. Plot: Sec 28 Lot 128 C1.  Her husband is buried same cemetery:

 

 

1912: Willard Joseph Hill

When Willard Joseph Hill was born on April 9, 1912, in DC, his father, Clarence, was 27 and his mother, Elsie, was 24. He married Vivian Evelyn Saire/Sayer in 1931. They had four children during their marriage -- Willard "Bill" Jr , Vivian (Mrs. Don Grishkot whose husband was an electrician), Barbara, +1 more that may still be living. He died on March 23, 1988, in Temple Hills, MD at the age of 75.

Willard was a coppersmith for the Navy Yard in DC.

Willard's daughter Vivian Evelyn Hill (your 2nd cousin) attended Anacostia High School in DC.  1953:

Willard's son Willard Jr married Muriel Janice "Toots" Keehn who was born in Michigan in 1933 and died in Naples FL in 1897.
