Celestia M. Cator is listed as niece of  Celestia Ferguson. 20th Ward, Precinct 5, Baltimore City, MD @ 192 Myrtle Ave.: Celestia is 10 (born 1860).  Her sister, Elizabeth CATOR is a 24 year old niece (b. 1856 in Maryland; white) also living with Celestia Ferguson. Celestia A. Ferguson ( b. 1806 MD) is listed as the 74 year old widowed head of household.  Perhaps when Isabella died, Celestia Ferguson took on some responsibility for the raising of the Joseph and Isabella children beginning in 1862.   In 1870 Census Index on Maryland State Archives, Elizabeth Cator is listed as living in Cantonsville, MD.

SAMUEL CATOR, Head of household in 1880 Census for Poolesville, Montgomery, MD; age 70, born 1810 in MD and both his parents were born in MD also.  He was Postmaster, married MARY A. CATOR, age 67 (born 1813) in Maryland, as were her parents.  Children were Samuel H. Cator, age 29 (born 1841) a blacksmith, and Maggie E. Cator, age 25 (born about 1855) who assisted in the house. Daughter, MARGARET E. CATOR, 2306 Champlain Ave, NW, Wash, DC died at age 52 in 1908 (born 1856).   A Samuel H Cator is listed as a clerk in 1890 DC Directory at 3160 P northwest.

Florence was born 1862 in VA to VA parents and she had two children, both living in 1910 with them:  Benjamin's Stepdaughter, Florence Becker was 25 and had been married to Louis C. Becker (age 27).  The Beckers had three children, still living in 1910; the 3 Becker children are listed above in the census picture.

Cator and his parents were all born in Maryland. Grandparents Otho and Mary Hinder are 63 and 59 years of age respectively.  Otho M. MIAMI, Okla. — Otho Roland "Tex" Cator, 77, passed away Monday, March 4, 2002. He was a quality controller for National Can Corporation.  Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Miami. Burial: Miami G.A.R. Cemetery. Visitation: Thursday 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

CATOR, and wife (NU) and son Franklin Cator, age 19.  William W. born 1865 in MD to MD born parents.  Value of home is $28,500 in 1930!  He married (name missing) at 28 and his wife is 58 (b. 1872) and married at 36.  She was from NJ and her parents from Massachusetts. Son Franklin is living at the home, is 19 and single.  Residence:  4907 Roland Avenue  William W. is retired.  Franklin works as a clerk for a bonding company.

Valerie Mace CATOR:    Age 50, born about 1880 in Maryland.  Living in 1930 in Philadelphia.  She rents a boarding house and takes in boarders.  She is widowed.  She lives next to Southhampton Road (see Benjamin and George and Ward below:

Benjamin F. CATOR and wife Tacy L.  Benjamin was born  January 27, 1893.  Next door is a Carter.  If this is a Cator instead, they may be related as they are also from Maryland. Benjamin F. Cator was born in MD to MD born parents, CHARLES BRAGG and VALERIE "Vee" MACE CATOR.  Tacy was born in PA to PA born parents.   Son Ward Cator was born in Maryland.  Benjamin and the neighbor, George H. Carter/Cator both are "chauffeurs for the city transportation".  George H Carter/Cator was also born in MD to MD born parents.  George is just two years younger than Benjamin.  They live next door to each other on Southhampton Road in Philadelphia.
