Poolesville, MarylandRichard Thomas Cator, Sr. was born on Feb. 11, 1887 in Poolesville, Montgomery County, Maryland. He grew to be tall, slender, with light blue eyes, and light brown hair. He was a self-employed carpenter/builder and in 1915 he married Caroline Winifred "Carrie W" Rice.
Carrie W Rice was born on the first day of the new year of 1890 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. A New Year's Baby!
Carrie and Richard were married on March 31 in 1915 in Cook County Illinois.
Cook County Illinois Marriage Index:Richard (b. 1887) completed his World War I Draft Registration Cards in 1917 which shows they were living at 624 Maryland Av., NE in DC.
Eleven years after they married, Carrie and Richard had a son Richard T. "Dick" Cator, Jr. Dick was born on November 24 in 1926 in Washington DC.
The 1930 Census for 4821 Kansas Avenue, DC informs us that:
Richard was born 1887 in MD to MD born parents, is now 43 years old and owns a home worth $12,000 that he and Carrie own. Carrie W. is now 40 (born 1890 in DC to MD born parents). They got married when he was 28 and she was 25 (1915). Dad is a building construction carpenter. Their son Richard T. Cator, Jr. was born in 1926 and is 3 on the listing.
The 1940 DC Census informs us that:
Richard T. Cator and his wife Caroline Winifred Rice Cator (Carrie W.) of Cuyahoga County, OH, are 53 and 50 respectively. She was born in Oh and he in MD. Their son Richard T. Cator, Jr. is 13 in 1940. Living with them is Richard's sister Mary Cator Rogers who was widowed by her husband in 1932. Carrie is a clerk at a bakery and Richard is a carpenter. Mary's husband was William Joseph Rogers Jr.
"Carrie" died in the District of Columbia on August 23 in 1952 at age 62, but Richard Jr. did not pass away until he was 84. He died on the 16th of Feb 1971 in Washington DC, the same city where Carrie died.

Washington, DCRichard T. "Dick" Cator Jr. was born on 24 Nov 1926 in Washington DC.
In 1945 Richard Jr. single, and having completed 2 years of high school, enlisted in the U. S. Army to fight in WWII.
In 1947 he married Theda Law in St. Lucie FL.
Theda Law was born on 15 Sep 1927. Richard Jr. and Theda had a son and a daughter.
His wife Theda Law divorced him October 12 1984 in Suwannee County, FL.
He died on March 5 in 2003 in Florida and is buried at Crawford Lake Cemetery in Live Oak, FL. Daniels Funeral Home made the arrangements. He was 76.
